He married Loretta in 1944, and they became the parents of Michael who is now engaged to be married to Marla.

During his term of office, Walter Valentan was hired as Administrator and membership increased by 35 centres. All the while, participation by members in all programs was climbing. Alex worked to cement relationships between the different sections of the country and supported the innovation of the Builders of the Bowling Industry Awards Dinner.

Alex Feldman has always believed in the importance of being a good citizen and a good member of his community. He joined the Chatham Kinsmen Club in 1951 and served on its’ Executive for a number of years. He was selected Kinsmen of the year in 1956 and was honoured with a life membership in the Kinsmen Association in 1965, one of only three people to be so honoured over a forty year period. He served on the Boards of the Chatham United Fund, Chatham Goodfellows, Community and Family Services, and sits on the Advisory Board of the St. Ursuline Pines College.
