As Terry Little enters the 5 pin bowling Hall of Fame, he continues to excel on the lanes.

Born in Chatham in 1958, Terry grew up on a farm and, for recreation, he joined the local bowling league with his parents. Terry picked up the game quickly, and, by age thirteen, Terry qualified for his first Youth Bowling Council provincial.

Terry loved 5 pin bowling from the outset, and, following his marriage in 1980, he moved to Port Lambton in the Sarnia area. From there, Terry bowled in his first provincial Open, representing the St. Clair zone. He also met the top bowlers of the area, including Hall of Famers Ruth Grant and Lorne Anderson. Their ability only encouraged Terry to improve and Terry has now competed in thirty three Opens. Of note, Terry has qualified for the singles twenty times and been a part of six Saturday afternoon stepladder finals. In addition, Terry has two provincial wins, a men's team in 1995 and, in 2010, Terry won the Ontario Open singles title. Nationally, the men's team bowled in Hull, Quebec and the national singles were contested in Winnipeg. His goal is to participate in forty provincial Opens.

While national gold eluded Terry in the Canadian 5 pin Bowlers' Association events, Terry did strike gold through the Master Bowlers' Association. With a re-aligning of his work schedule, Terry managed weekends off and, in 1997, he joined the Master Bowlers' Association of Ontario. Overall, he has four provincial wins and, from nine nationals, he has two gold, three silver and one bronze medal. Through these nationals, Terry continues to travel across Canada and now has bowled nationally in every province except British Columbia.

In addition, Terry has fared well financially on the lanes. In 2002, at the provincial Open, Terry rolled a perfect game and won the escalating prize of $18,245, the largest prize ever from the event. As well, in 2006, Terry won the TSN television show, through Bowl Canada, and won an additional $10,000, and overall on TSN, Terry earned $12,250. His total earnings from all of bowling certainly exceeds $50,000.

Terry is a fixture in the Friday night major league at Playdium Recreation in Windsor. Bowling for twenty-seven consecutive years, Terry has won the high average title five times, and his highest mark is 277, with an overall average of 258. Terry's bowling accomplishments continue to build and, just this past year, he won tournament division aggregate honours in Ontario and represented the province at the MBAC nationals in Calgary, winning a bronze medal.

With his life partner Janet Fougere, they have now settled in Blenheim and also purchased the bowling centre in Ridgetown. While the six lane centre keeps them busy, Terry has continued in his regular job at Martinrea Fabco in Ridgetown. Janet, who is a breast cancer survivor, runs the bowling centre and is also an advocate for breast cancer research.

With a large blended family, Terry and Janet have six children and four grandchildren. Terry ties to keep a watchful eye on everyone while continuing to perform on the lanes at the highest levels that our sport can offer.
