Brock Bailey was a contemporary of tonight’s inductees to our legends division. Along with George Weale, Brock was also an employee of the City of Toronto in the works department.

With the organization of the Canadian Bowlers’ Association (CBA) in 1927, Brock Bailey was founding vice president and continued on the executive as treasurer from 1929-31, followed by successive terms as vice president through 1934.

On the lanes, he was a member of the Karrys Dundas team that won the CBA team championship in 1929, along with Hall of Famers Charlie Demelis, Eddie Hawkes and George Weale.

Both Brock Bailey and George Weale bowled in the City Hall Five Pin Bowling league. Formed during World War 1, the league bowled in several prominent centres of the day. By 1933, it enjoyed seasons at the old and new Athenaeum, Sauders, Orr Bros., Windsor, Karrys Terauley Street and Olympia Recreation Club at Gerrard and Yonge Streets. That same year, Brock Bailey was the high average leader with 244, and with a 901 triple. Known by his smooth delivery, Brock Bailey is definitely remembered as a pioneer of organized bowling.
