MILLIE EVANS, now of Mississauga, was the only bowler on all three of the remarkable Toronto Ladies’ Teams which in 1964, 1965 and 1966 became the first ever to win three consecutive Ontario and Canadian Open Championships. Millie appeared on three other Ontario Championship teams in 1955, 1958 and 1968, and that 1958 team also went on to win the Canadian Open Championships. With a 250 lifetime average, Millie bowled a record score of 1283 pins for four games in 1968 at the Ontario Open Championships, and in 1970 recorded a perfect 450 game in the Olympia Mixed Major League. An early member of the Masters, Millie set a record which still stands today with nine individual tournament victories, including a remarkable four wins in just eight events in the 1970-71 season. She was Ontario’s Master Bowler of the Year in 1970, 1971 and again in 1972.
