She began her career as a private secretary to the Service Manager at the Toronto Branch of Kelvinator of Canada, where she was later promoted to office manager and dispatcher for the service and installation departments.

Rose married her husband “Bill” who is also her partner in business life, and with him she has two daughters, both of whom graduated from the University of Toronto. The younger daughter, Christine, joined their staff at Georgetown Bowl this season. The older daughter Antonia is married to Dan Cameron, an arena manager for the City of Etobicoke, and the mother of three beautiful children.

Her first business venture, together with her husband Bill and her brother Pete Williams, was a billiard parlour in Toronto. The second was an appliance store including refrigeration and air conditioning sales and service, and a sub post-office. Georgetown Bowl was built in 1960, and opened as a bowling centre in 1961, with 12 five pin lanes. The centre was later expanded to 20 lanes in 1975. In 1975, to further her knowledge of bowling, Rose attended the Brunswick Management School in Skokie, Illinois.

Rose joined the B.P.A.O. Board of Directors in 1967 as 2nd Vice-President, and was the first woman to be elected to this Board.

She has held the positions of B.P.A.O. representative to the O.B.C. Convention in 1968, B.P.A.O. Representative to Sport Ontario, and a member of a special ladies Sport Ontario Committee. She was involved in the acceptance of five pin bowling into the Ontario Winter Games, and officiated there.

Chairman (3 years), President, Past President, and Chairman of the Board. She holds the distinction of being the first woman president of the B.P.A.O. She spent a total of 14 years on the Ontario Board of Directors, and 7 years on the Canadian Board of Directors.

She was president during eventful times: the 25th Anniversary of the B.P.A.O., the establishment of the Bowling Sport Residency in Ottawa, and she also encouraged the merging of the provincial bodies of the Bowlers Association into the Canadian 5 in Bowling Association, which took place during her term in office.

As Membership Services Chairman, she initiated the B.P.A.O. Directory which is still in use.

She has been honored with 23 B.P.A.O., B.P.A.C., and other bowling related association plaques.

In performing her duties, she has never missed an official meeting or tournament, and presently holds the office of Liaison Officer between the B.P.A.O. and the O.F.P.B.A.

Her main aim throughout the years has been to upgrade the image of bowling, and she continues to devote her bowling career to this important cause.
